After normal budding, late frost damage could be avoided in 2019 despite a few critical nights. In contrast to the previous year, flowering took place about two weeks later this year, which meant a normal time of year.
The great heat in June 2019 with record temperatures above 30° Celsius then led to rapid vegetation progress. The dry and hot weather was also the reason why very healthy grapes were available throughout Austria in this vintage.
